Local communities from the Republic of Srpska have until 15 February to apply for participation in the 11th project Let’s Connect the Children of Kosovo and Metohija and Republic of Srpska, to take place in June next year, announced the Committee for Assistance to Serbs in Kosmet.

The visit is planned from 17 to 25 June, after the end of the school year, and the project will be dedicated to best students, Serbian children from multi-member families from all Serbian communities in Kosovo and Metohija.

This project has been implemented successfully 10 times so far, in cooperation with local communities and primary schools, with the participation of 37 cities and municipalities of the Republic of Srpska.

Until present, more than 6,000 Serbian children accompanied by over 550 teachers have stayed in Srpska within this unique project.

– In addition to school children aged between 10 and 15, the project covers children and youth with developmental disabilities accompanied by parents from the Podrži me (Support me) association of parents from Kosovska Mitrovica, for whom we built the Podrži me – 9 January day center in Kosovska Mitrovica – the Committee reminded.

In cooperation with the Eparchy of Pakrac-Slavonia, a one-day trip is planned for about 40 Serbian children from Western Slavonia in Croatia, so that they all meet in the Republic of Srpska.

- We invite local communities, primary schools, families, as well as SECS Prosvjeta from Brčko and Mostar to support the project and have as many Serbian children as possible from Kosovo and Metohija come to be our guests in the Republic of Srpska for seven days – said the Committee.
