Serb member of the Presidency of BiH Željka Cvijanović began her visit to the United States by meeting with compatriots and participating in the Saint Sava academy in Washington.

– It is always a pleasure to start a visit to a country by meeting and socializing with our compatriots – said Cvijanović.

That is why, immediately after landing in the USA, we rushed to get to the Saint Sava academy held in Washington in honor of the first Serbian archbishop and educator, stated Cvijanović.

– For diaspora Serbs, the homeland is in the heart, no matter how geographically distant it may be, and our Church is a place of gathering and a guardian of faith, tradition and identity – noted Cvijanović.

She thanked Bishop Irinej of Eastern America, the clergy of St. Luke Church and Serbian community in Washington for their warm hospitality and the wonderful event dedicated to our great man – Saint Sava.

– Thank you for the immense support, unity and love you show to the Republic of Srpska and Serbia, which will always be with you! – stated Cvijanović.

Serb member of BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović said that the very touching scene of Serbian children together with adults singing the hymn to Saint Sava in Washington testified to the preservation of the identity of the Serbian people in the diaspora.

– We are one and indivisible people, no matter where or on which continent we live! – said Cvijanović.
