The President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska, Nedeljko Čubrilović, currently in Kikinda, attending the Days of the Republic of Srpska in Banat, said that marking the 30th birthday of the Republic of Srpska was very significant, especially there, where a large number of Serbs who had fled Krajina lived.
He thanked the homeland associations in Banat for the invitation to attend the Days of the Republic of Srpska in Banat, organized by the Banat Diocese.
Čubrilović said that the day after, Belgrade would mark the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the first Constitution of the Republic of Srpska, which was the foundation of freedom of the Serb people in BiH, announced the office of the President of the National Assembly of Srpska.
– That constitution provided the foundation for the establishment of the Republic of Srpska, it enabled its functioning, and later development and progress. This also led to the recognition of Srpska in Dayton as one of the entities in BiH and an integral part of the state union – said Čubrilović, addressing the present.
Čubrilović presented the icon of Bishop Platon of Banja Luka to Bishop Nikanor of Bačka.
Bishop Nikanor thanked Čubrilović for coming to the celebration, which was attended by many Serbs living in Banat who had the place of birth or origin in the territory of the Republic of Srpska, but also Petrovac, Bihać, Sanski Most, Grahovo.
