The regular annual assembly of the Association of Serbian Folklore of the Diaspora was held last weekend in Belgrade, with one of the main points on the agenda being to decide the hosts of the 25th European Festival of Serbian Folklore of the Diaspora and the 1st European Festival of Children’s Folklore of the Diaspora.

According to the unanimous decision of the members of the assembly, the next year’s 25th European Festival of Serbian Diaspora Folklore will be held on 27 and 28 May in Novi Sad, and the newly established European Festival of Diaspora Children’s Folklore will be held on 8 April in Vrnjačka Banja. The year after (2024), Vrnjačka Banja will host the 26th European Festival of Serbian Diaspora Folklore, and Novi Sad the 2nd Children’s Festival. The 2025 Serbian Diaspora Folklore Festivals will be held in Banja Luka and Bijeljina.

The president of the Association chaired the assembly session, which included participation of representatives of Serbian associations from Switzerland, Austria, Germany, France, Italy and Croatia.

The European Festival of Serbian Diaspora Folklore is the largest event of diaspora Serbs that gathers in one place several thousand lovers and guardians of Serbian tradition through dance, song and music.
