Veselin Masleša FDSE successfully organized the 11th Serbian Folklore Festival 2026. The concert of the performing ensembles of this society and participants from Serbia and the USA was held on the summer stage of the Kastel fortress. Masleša musicians and dancers and their guests from Čačak, Obrenovac and Cleveland (Ohio) presented the beauty of Serbian tradition and cultural heritage.

- The festival is included in the 2026 City of Banja Luka Calendar of Cultural Events and I believe that the audience at Kastel enjoyed the beauty and magic of folk dance – said Danijela Kajkut, authorized signatory at the Social Activities Department, who attended this event on behalf of the City.

According to her, Serbian tradition and national heritage are passed down from generation to generation in the most beautiful way and are preserved from oblivion by organizing such festivals, which contribute to connecting our people wherever they are.

The Director of the Directorate for Cooperation with the Diaspora and Serbs in the Region, Vladimir Kokanović, attended the concert of performing ensembles within the 11th Serbian Folklore Festival in Banja Luka. In addressing the present, he said that the preservation of Serbian national identity, language, Cyrillic script, culture and tradition was a permanent obligation of all institutions of the Republic of Serbia, and that folklore was one of the strongest symbols of national unity and connectedness of the Serbian people.

Veselin Masleša FDSE was founded in 1948. Over the 78 years of its existence, more than 10,000 members have passed through the Ensemble, and it currently has around 400 active members. It has won numerous awards and recognitions. It has been the City’s best-ranked ensemble since 2015, and enjoying the status of an ensemble of Republic importance since 2019.
