The Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska, Savo Minić, commended Dragan Krndija, who had returned to his native Šipovo after 35 years of living in Vienna, bought a hotel and invested significant funds in its renovation. Minić announced institutional support for further development of this tourist complex.

After talking with Krndija, Srpska’s Prime Minister said that Šipovo was one of the most beautiful tourist destinations he had visited in the Republic of Srpska. – This is one of the best examples of how to invest in one’s own region. We will organize the Government’s first activities related to seminar and congress tourism right here – said Minić. He added that this location would also be supported through the activities of the Hunting Association of the Republic of Srpska.

Minić stated that discussion also covered arrangement of a part of the riverbed in order to blend further into the natural environment, bearing in mind the hotel’s location near the confluence of the rivers. According to him, Srpska’s Government will help the development of this project through regular and special support measures. According to Prime Minister Minić, Šipovo is already recording a large number of visits, and several thousand tourists are expected during the event Šipovo Days.

Hotel owner Dragan Krndija said that after 35 years of working in Vienna, he and his wife had returned to Šipovo, where they had bought a hotel in poor condition and renovated it completely. The hotel is located at the confluence of the Pliva and Janj rivers, and new facilities are planned – swimming pools, sports fields, a small zoo and an outdoor gym. The facility consists of 50 rooms and 12 suites and can accommodate about 150 guests. It currently employs 17 workers, and the plan is to increase that number further.

Krndija said that Šipovo offered great opportunities for development and invited people from the diaspora to consider returning. – Here, you can have a nice life and enjoy yourself for little money. This is a beautiful city with many opportunities, and those willing to work can earn money – he said.
