The stand of the National and University Library of the Republic of Srpska was officially opened at the 22nd Thessaloniki International Book Fair, which runs from 7 to 10 May 2026. The Library represents the Republic of Srpska with the support of the Republic of Srpska Representative Office in Greece and the Embassy of BiH in Athens.

At the official opening, attended by a large number of guests, a Write Your Name calligraphy workshop was held at the Library’s stand. The workshop was designed as a creative and educational gathering offering visitors the opportunity to become acquainted with the Cyrillic alphabet, its beauty and significance, and to write their names in the traditional way under expert guidance. The workshop was organized in cooperation with the Republic of Srpska Representation in Greece, the Theophilos charitable organization, the Republic of Srpska National and University Library and the Beli Krin Association of Serbs in Greece.

Thanks to the Republic of Srpska Representation in Greece, with the exceptional efforts of the head of the Representation, Jelena Jovanović, the Republic of Srpska NUL organized an interesting program and translated Stripovijetke by Branko Ćopić into Greek, which aroused great interest among visitors to the Thessaloniki Book Fair.

The children’s workshop Learn about the Cyrillic Alphabet with Library Cats that Sleep Upside Down, by writer and librarian Berislav Blagojević, is part of this year’s official Fair program, with more than fifty schoolchildren participating.

Every year at the Thessaloniki Fair, there is great interest in the Serbian Language School, which many Greeks attend under the guidance of Professor Marijana Milunović. This year, Bulgaria is the guest of honor at the Thessaloniki literary festival. The stand of the National and University Library of the Republic of Srpska is located in Hall 13, Stand No. 11.
