With a large turnout, the Miami Museum of History officially opened an event dedicated to Serbian culture, organized by the Cultural Square independent organization. This 120-day cultural program aims to promote Serbian heritage in South Florida and beyond.
Already on the first day of the event, interest exceeded expectations — the Museum’s concert hall was too small to accommodate all visitors. The rich program featured a performance by the folklore group Bistra Voda, whose traditional dances were met with enthusiasm by the audience, and an inspiring performance of Nikola Tesla by the St. Petersburg Ballet Academy. The organizers say that such events are of multiple importance: ‘Culture is a strong bridge between people. This event not only preserves the identity of young people in the diaspora, but also contributes to better mutual understanding and breaking stereotypes,’ Cultural Square says.
The event includes a diverse program: exhibitions of works of art, displays of folk costumes, concerts, gastronomic presentations and educational workshops for all ages. A significant part of the program is dedicated to children.
Visitors are given a unique opportunity to taste traditional Serbian dishes and drinks, enjoy the sounds of folk music and see authentic handicrafts that testify to the rich Serbian cultural heritage.
