The third Vidovdan Assembly was held in Malta last weekend, bringing together the entire Serbian community. Chief organizers were the Maltese branch of Serbs for Serbs charity and Serbian Orthodox Church, and they were joined by the office of the Serbian Embassy in Malta, Maltese Serbian Community NGO, St. Helen of Anjou Serbian supplementary school, the Circle of Serbian Sisters in Malta, and Dukat cultural and artistic society. The Vidovdan Assembly was held at the usual location in Qawra and included a competition in fish soup preparation.

‘The gathering was held with the enormous help of many sponsors and friends of the Serbs for Serbs organization in Malta. For the first time, we also had local media support, for which we are very grateful. With this, we once again made a step forward in bringing our culture and tradition closer to the inhabitants of the island where we ourselves live. We hope the tradition lasts for many years to come. All the funds collected at this assembly will be directed to build a house for the Rašković family’, said the Serbs from Malta.
Socializing, folklore performances by several cultural and artistic society Dukat groups, enjoying fish soup, homemade sweet and savory specialties, all added to spending a nice day and thus marking the great Serbian holiday.
