On 19 June 2026, the final performance of the Prosvjeta Serbian Language School was held in the packed Albert Hall in Vienna, marking the end of another successful school year. This significant event brought together more than 300 children and their parents, as well as all teachers and representatives of Viennese schools, thus reiterating the importance of preserving the Serbian language, culture and tradition among the youngest generations in Austria.<\/p>\n
Throughout the evening, the audience enjoyed a cultural and artistic program prepared by the teachers and students of the Prosvjeta Serbian Language School. Students of all Viennese classes, their parents, teachers, friends of the school and numerous guests gathered in one place, creating an atmosphere of unity, pride and joy.<\/p>\n
The program opened officially with the performance of the national anthem of the Republic of Serbia, after which the President of the SECS Prosvjeta Austria, Marko Sari\u0107, welcomed the attendees. In his address, he said that nowadays Prosvjeta brought together around 40 schools throughout Austria and that its work represented one of the most important pillars of the Serbian community in preserving the language, culture and national identity.<\/p>\n
At the beginning of the program, Prosvjeta\u2019s Little Choir performed, singing a couple of children\u2019s songs. During the evening, reciters, choirs, little actors and numerous performers took the stage with song, dance and verse. Special emotions were stirred by the performances of the youngest participants, as well as the performances of the most renowned Serbian poets and writers. Each performance was rewarded with strong applause from the audience, which followed the successes of its youngest with pride.<\/p>\n
One of the most solemn moments of the evening was the presentation of diplomas to students who had completed successfully the school year. The diplomas were presented as recognition for their hard work, dedication and commitment to learning the Serbian language, history, culture and tradition. The final performance ended with a joint rendering of the song Za milion godina, and their announcing new gatherings starting in September. The evening at the Albert Hall was marked by the common message that investing in education and preserving one\u2019s roots was the best investment for the future.<\/p>\n
