A delegation of the Ministry of Trade and Tourism of the Republic of Srpska paid a working visit to Belgrade and Oplenac on Friday, 27 March 2026, where meetings were held with representatives of the Kara\u0111or\u0111evi\u0107 family and the King Peter I Kara\u0111or\u0111evi\u0107 Foundation in Oplenac to present the new tourist route project Kara\u0111or\u0111evi\u0107 Trails through the Republic of Srpska. The project, initiated by Assistant Minister of Tourism Predrag Te\u0161i\u0107, is designed as a unified tourism product that showcases the rich tangible and intangible legacy of the Kara\u0111or\u0111evi\u0107 dynasty in the territory of the Republic of Srpska in a contemporary way. \u2018The route is designed to take visitors through places that bear witness to the life and work of the royal family \u2013 from endowments and historical sites to memorials \u2013 offering a comprehensive and authentic experience of that period and its importance for national identity and statehood development,\u2019 Te\u0161i\u0107 said during the project presentation in Belgrade.<\/p>\n
His Royal Highness Crown Prince Aleksandar Kara\u0111or\u0111evi\u0107 expressed his great gratitude to the Ministry of Trade and Tourism of the Republic of Srpska and Assistant Minister Predrag Te\u0161i\u0107 for this initiative and emphasized his special gratitude for the fact that this project preserved historical heritage and strengthened cultural unity of the Serbian people in a dignified manner. Crown Prince Aleksandar Kara\u0111or\u0111evi\u0107 offered full support for the implementation of the project, and made the capacities of the royal expert service available.<\/p>\n
In a separate meeting in Topola, the Republic of Srpska delegation also spoke with the director of the King Peter I Kara\u0111or\u0111evi\u0107 Foundation, Dragan Relji\u0107, who confirmed his readiness for active professional cooperation in order to ensure the authenticity of historical data and content within the route.<\/p>\n
Assistant Minister Predrag Te\u0161i\u0107 said that this project went beyond a classic tourism concept, because in addition to being a tourism product, it aimed to contribute to the presentation and preservation of the heritage deeply rooted in the identity of our people. \u2018The Kara\u0111or\u0111evi\u0107 dynasty left an indelible mark on our history, from the struggle for liberation and the creation of a modern state, to the building of institutions and the preservation of cultural and spiritual heritage. This route aims to bring these values closer to both domestic and foreign tourists, but also to connect local communities through a unified tourism package. In this sense, the route is planned to include Zvornik, Vi\u0161egrad, Han Pijesak, Pale, Banja Luka and Mrkonji\u0107 Grad, which will form a meaningful and recognizable whole together; and our goal is for the next step of the route to include local communities in Serbia in the unified program,\u2019 Te\u0161i\u0107 noted. He added that initial steps in this direction had already been taken and that meetings in Belgrade and Oplenac had been attended by the Assistant Mayor of Petrovac na Mlavi, Dobrica Milosavljevi\u0107, and the Assistant Director of the local Tourism Organization, Vedrana Lazarevi\u0107, both actively involved in the project and working on integrating Serbian municipalities into this tourist route.<\/p>\n
In the coming period, the Ministry of Trade and Tourism of the Republic of Srpska will organize a joint meeting with representatives of local communities to specify route details, prepare promotional materials and finalize the tourist program, and will form a working group consisting of representatives of the Republic of Srpska and Serbia, responsible for cooperation on this project and its further development.<\/p>\n
