Serbian associations and clubs from Stuttgart and its vicinity in Germany were the first to implement the major humanitarian project Each Serb One Euro for Serbian children in Kosovo and Metohija initiated by the Banja Luka-based Committee for Aid to Kosovo and Metohija.<\/p>\n
On Committee recommendation, they donated a total of 5,300 euros to the Podr\u017ei me \u2013 9 January Day Center Kosovska Mitrovica for van purchase, recreational classes, and Center\u2019s work with children and youth with developmental difficulties.<\/p>\n
Stojanka Merz from Ra\u0161ka, who lives and works in Germany, personally presented the latest donation of 1,800 euros to the head of the Podr\u017ei me \u2013 9 January Day Center Kosovska Mitrovica, Ivana Raki\u0107, on behalf of the Serbian Cultural and Sports Center Heilbronn near Stuttgart.<\/p>\n
This large-scale campaign targeting Kosovo and Metohija was also supported with donations by Bratstvo Association Waiblingen, Serbian Educational and Cultural Society Prosvjeta Germany, and Serbian Cultural Center Sindelfingen.<\/p>\n
We are especially grateful to the City of Waiblingen\u2019s Integration Council, which includes representatives of many communities, so that: a Romanian, a Greek, a Lithuanian, a Turk, and a Croat donated 280 euros.<\/p>\n
We are very grateful to our diaspora from Stuttgart and is vicinity and to everyone who supported this great act of humanity for our Kosovo and Metohija with their participation.<\/p>\n
The Committee also thanked Vera Saji\u0107, BiH Consul General in Stuttgart, who gathered the Serbian diaspora in Germany and personally participated with her own funds in a humanitarian donation for children and youth with developmental difficulties.<\/p>\n
Milorad Arlov, campaign initiator and promoter and president of the Kosovo and Metohija Aid Committee, believes that many will take part in this act of humanity, following the example of the Serbian clubs and associations from Stuttgart<\/p>\n
\u2013 One euro per month is a modest amount for an individual, but if we all participate, it will provide great material and moral help for our people and Serbian children in Kosovo and Metohija \u2013 said Arlov.<\/p>\n
The head of the Podr\u017ei me \u2013 9 January Day Center, Ivana Raki\u0107, also thanked the Serbian diaspora for their humanity.<\/p>\n
She said that the support of all humane people meant a lot to them.<\/p>\n
\u2013 The most significant assistance has been coming from the Kosovo and Metohija Aid Committee for years and we would hardly survive or function without it \u2013 says Raki\u0107.<\/p>\n
