The event Unity and Strength \u2013 Serbia will be held on the last Sunday of August in the House of the National Assembly in Belgrade, with more than 300 Serbian associations from all over the world expected to participate, announced the office of the minister without portfolio in the Serbian Government in charge of relations with the diaspora, \u0110or\u0111e Mili\u0107evi\u0107.<\/p>\n
Yesterday, at the first consultative online meeting with representatives of Serbian diaspora associations from around the world, he informed the representatives of the relevant Serbian organizations in the region and the diaspora about event preparations.<\/p>\n
Mili\u0107evi\u0107 said that the state leadership of Serbia and the Republic of Srpska and leadership of the Serbian Orthodox Church \/SOC\/ were expected to attend the gathering.<\/p>\n
The event will discuss several important topics including business potentials of Serbia EXPO 2027 \u2013 Leap into the Future 2027 and role of the diaspora, the role of the diaspora in the process of preserving cultural, educational, national and religious identity, and the role of the diaspora in strengthening international reputation of the Republic of Serbia and preserving national and state interests.<\/p>\n
Mili\u0107evi\u0107 pointed out that it was important for Serbs, wherever they live, to be aware of the importance of unity and the united action of Serbia and Republic of Srpska, as well as the protection of the rights of compatriots in the region.<\/p>\n
\u2018Dear friends, our unity and our strength lie in our shared vision and joint work. Therefore, I invite you all to support unitedly and unanimously the strategic conclusions of the Declaration adopted at the Pan-Serbian Assembly in Belgrade and the responsible policy pursued by our state leadership, at the upcoming Unity and Strength \u2013 Serbia gathering,\u2019 Mili\u0107evi\u0107 said.<\/p>\n
The online discussion, followed live by hundreds of citizens from the diaspora, in addition to Mili\u0107evi\u0107, included representatives of Serbian associations from Austria \u2013 Aleksandar Sa\u0161a Stankovi\u0107, North Macedonia \u2013 Dalibor Kitanovi\u0107, Hungary \u2013 Dijana Kondi\u0107 \u0110uri\u0107, Greece \u2013 Katarina Bo\u017eani\u0107, Slovenia \u2013 Nikola Vlahovi\u0107, Italy \u2013 Lidija Radovanovi\u0107.<\/p>\n
Representatives of Serbian associations from Croatia \u2013 Nada Filipovi\u0107 and Radmila Beri\u0107, Romania \u2013 Ognjan Krsti\u0107, Montenegro \u2013 Miro Lu\u010di\u0107, Switzerland \u2013 Zvonimir Jovanovi\u0107, Albania \u2013 Piro Nase and Sweden \u2013 Sveta Lazi\u0107 also took part.<\/p>\n
They thanked Mili\u0107evi\u0107 and the Serbian Government for their support in preserving the national and cultural identity of Serbs in the countries where they live.<\/p>\n
The participants of the online meeting supported unanimously Mili\u0107evi\u0107\u2019s initiative that all Serbs, wherever they live, stand behind the Declaration of the Pan-Serbian Assembly.<\/p>\n
