A ceremonial reception was held in the Home of the Serbian Army in Belgrade, on the occasion of the Day of the Republic of Srpska and anniversary of the promulgation of its first Constitution. Officials of the Republic of Srpska and Serbia and numerous guests attended the reception.<\/p>\n
It was said that the first Constitution of the Republic of Srpska, adopted on 28 February 1992, was a visionary and courageous move by the then Serbian deputies and a confirmation of statehood. Its result is the present-day Republic of Srpska, one of the greatest Serbian victories in modern history inscribed in golden letters.<\/p>\n
The Republic of Srpska is a state by all parameters, we only have no seat in the United Nations, said the President of the Republic of Srpska, Milorad Dodik.<\/p>\n
\u2013 The difficult circumstances of that time saw the constituting of the Republic of Srpska, which was not a whim of the moment, but a historical task. Taught that only where we have a state, we have freedom. Where Serbs do not have it today, they live very hard lives, they are second-class citizens \u2013 Dodik said.<\/p>\n
He noted that Srpska had not let Jasenovac, Prebilovci, Jadovno and Drakuli\u0107 happen again.<\/p>\n
The Constitution of the Republic of Srpska and Day of the Republic of Srpska are an expression of the will of the Serbian people, said Patriarch Porfirije.<\/p>\n
\u2013 The President of Srpska Milorad Dodik said yesterday in Podgorica that SOC was crucial for the survival of the identity, not only of the Serbs in Montenegro but also in Serbia and throughout the region where our people lived \u2013 the Patriarch recalled.<\/p>\n
He notes that these words of the President of the Republic of Srpska show that the Church and the people are one identity and one faith.<\/p>\n
On the map of our people, the Republic of Srpska occupies an extremely important place and we have never denied others what we wanted for ourselves, said the envoy of the President of Serbia and Minister of Labor and Employment in the Serbian Government, Nikola Selakovi\u0107.<\/p>\n
\u2013 Statehood and state-building, along with love for freedom and race, are the main characteristics of our people. And when our people are denied that, they ignore it \u2013 said Selakovi\u0107.<\/p>\n
He stated that Serbia would continue to support the Republic of Srpska in every way.<\/p>\n
From schools, kindergartens, homes, roads, infrastructure, bridges. Why does Serbia do that, if someone asks you? Well, because we love the Republic of Srpska. We know that in Srpska we have a brother, wherever he lives, he is a brother \u2013 said Selakovi\u0107.<\/p>\n
