The Mayor of Novi Sad, Milan \u0110uri\u0107, received in the City Hall a delegation of the Republic of Srpska, which is visiting Serbia on the occasion of the Days of Srpska in Serbia event.<\/p>\n
The President of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of the Republic of Srpska, academician Rajko Kuzmanovi\u0107, presented \u0110uri\u0107 with the Encyclopedia of the Republic of Srpska, promoted the night before in the Grand Hall of the SASA Branch in Novi Sad, announced the Mayor\u2019s office.<\/p>\n
He said that the Encyclopedia of the Republic of Srpska was a work containing a large quantity of information about the history, culture, personalities and events that had shaped the Republic of Srpska and that more than 200 authors had been involved in its creation.<\/p>\n
\u0110uri\u0107 wished the guests a warm welcome to Novi Sad and thanked them for the significant present and said that it was extremely important to know and understand the culture and history of our people, and that books could not be replaced by digital devices and computers.<\/p>\n
The Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Srpska, \u017deljka Stoji\u010di\u0107, expressed the Provincial Government of Vojvodina\u2019s readiness to strengthen cooperation with Srpska in the fields of culture, science, art and education.<\/p>\n
After the meeting with the Mayor of Novi Sad, Milan \u0110uri\u0107, and provincial secretaries for culture, Dragan Milo\u0161evi\u0107, and for higher education and scientific research, Zoran Milo\u0161evi\u0107, Stoji\u010di\u0107 said that the Provincial Government was a great supporter, partner and sincere friend of Srpska.<\/p>\n
She thanked the line secretariat for its readiness to be a partner to Srpska\u2019s cultural institutions in numerous projects, and expressed the expectation that cooperation would be achieved in other fields as well.<\/p>\n
\u2018I hope that the cooperation will not only be based on the principle of support and assistance from the Provincial Government and the Government of Serbia, but that we will develop on a level and that Srpska will measure against Serbia in terms of knowledge and skills, thus creating a unique space for intensive work\u2019, said Stoji\u010di\u0107.<\/p>\n
The Provincial Secretary for Higher Education and Scientific Research, Zoran Milo\u0161evi\u0107, said that it was important for higher education to show sensibility for sincere partnership.<\/p>\n
\u2018It is important for us that students from Srpska see the University of Novi Sad as their own, but we also want the universities in Banja Luka and Isto\u010dno Sarajevo to be a place attended by students from Vojvodina because it is their university\u2019, said Milo\u0161evi\u0107.<\/p>\n
According to him, in the past three years, 42 projects were completed, while more than 144 researchers from the Republic of Srpska collaborated as partners on the projects of Novi Sad University.<\/p>\n
The Provincial Secretary for Culture, Dragana Milo\u0161evi\u0107, reminded that a cooperation protocol between the Provincial Secretariat and Srpska\u2019s Ministry of Education and Culture had been signed in May.<\/p>\n
She said that the meeting had also discussed potential cooperation of the Serbian National Theater and Subotica National Theater with relevant theaters in Srpska.<\/p>\n
The Head of the Republic of Srpska Representation in Serbia, Mla\u0111en Cicovi\u0107, who participated in the meeting, pointed out that relations between the two countries had never been better.<\/p>\n
\u2018Only collected and united can we defend and save ourselves from all challenges\u2019, Cicovi\u0107 said.<\/p>\n
As part of Srpska Days in Serbia, Gradi\u0161ka City Theater performed the play Miropomazani (The Anointed) in the Novi Sad Cultural Center last night.<\/p>\n
The Ministry of Education and Culture of Srpska supported this play within Reci naglas competition for the best unpublished dramatic text.<\/p>\n
