Organized by Srpska\u2019s Representative Office in Serbia and the Association of Writers of Serbia, the event Ko\u010di\u0107\u2019s Day in Belgrade brought together writers from the Republic of Srpska and Serbia who paid tribute to Petar Ko\u010di\u0107 at his grave at the New Cemetery and at the monument to the literary great in \u010cuburski Park.<\/p>\n
Writers Du\u0161ko M. Petrovi\u0107, Vidak Maslovari\u0107, Radmilo V. Radovanovi\u0107, Majo Danilovi\u0107, Mihailo Orlovi\u0107 and Danijel Gatari\u0107, and associate for culture at the Republic of Srpska Representation in Serbia, Borislav Maksimovi\u0107, laid wreaths and flowers on Ko\u010di\u0107\u2019s grave.<\/p>\n
Du\u0161ko M. Petrovi\u0107 addressed the gathering on behalf of the Serbian Writers\u2019 Association and recalled that the famous author had graduated from a gymnasium in Belgrade, where he had lived for a while after getting married, and that he had left Belgrade for Vienna.<\/p>\n
Speaking about today\u2019s gathering in the Serbian capital in honor of the great author, Petrovi\u0107 pointed out that it was part of the large manifestation Ko\u010di\u0107\u2019s Assembly, held every year in the last week of August in Stri\u010di\u0107i, Banja Luka, Gomionica, and in Belgrade, where writers from Ko\u010di\u0107\u2019s homeland came and preserved the memory of the great author.<\/p>\n
On behalf of the Writers\u2019 Association of the Republic of Srpska, Mihajlo Orlovi\u0107 spoke about Ko\u010di\u0107, his role and importance, and explained his perception of the famous author as a powerful metaphor.<\/p>\n
\u2018I perceive Ko\u010di\u0107 as a big mountain, which woke up in one moment with all its might and which still resonates today as strongly as it did more than a hundred years ago. That echo regenerated not only his Zmijanje, but also Krajina and the entire Serbian race. Petar is something great and something with a lot of meaning for the Serbian people\u2019, said Orlovi\u0107.<\/p>\n
The writers then went to \u010cuburski Park, where after laying wreaths and flowers on Ko\u010di\u0107\u2019s monument, they recited verses in praise of the great author.<\/p>\n
The event Ko\u010di\u0107\u2019s Day in Belgrade ended last night at the Writers\u2019 Association of Serbia, with holding of a literary evening titled Zmijanje in Belgrade, Srpska in Serbia, which included participation of Mihailo Orlovi\u0107, Radmilo V. Radovanovi\u0107 and Danijel Gatari\u0107 from Banja Luka, and Laura Barna, Du\u0161ica Milanovi\u0107, Grozdana Lu\u010di\u0107 Lali\u0107, Bratislav R. Milanovi\u0107, Du\u0161ko M. Petrovi\u0107, Majo Danilovi\u0107, Milko Grbovi\u0107 and Vidak Maslovari\u0107 from Belgrade.<\/p>\n
