Academician Matija Be\u0107kovi\u0107 was presented a Charter for exceptional assistance and support in promoting the Serbian educational and cultural society Prosvjeta in Kozarska Dubica.<\/p>\n
Be\u0107kovi\u0107 said that Prosvjeta membership had included all the most notable people of Serbian education and culture, and that Kozarska Dubica was the hometown of the archpriest Slavko Vujasinovi\u0107, the first secretary of Prosvjeta in 1902.<\/p>\n
Be\u0107kovi\u0107 pointed out that that Society had built the first church at that time and that the purpose of its founding had never been forgotten through all these times.<\/p>\n
on the occasion of the 120th anniversary of the founding of Prosvjeta, emphasized that it was an honor for him to present recognition to one of the greatest contemporary Serbian poets and thinkers, to a human greatness that shaped, enriched and ennobled the Serbian language and cultural heritage in the best possible way.<\/p>\n
In his oration, Sinki\u0107 recalled some moments from the long history of that Society and pointed out that, together with the Serbian Orthodox Church, Prosvjeta had been and still was the guardian of the spiritual and national identity of the Serbian people.<\/p>\n
Prosvjeta\u2019s jubilee in Kozarska Dubica was marked last weekend by a three-day cultural program with participation of numerous artists, writers and guests.<\/p>\n
A ceremonial academy was held in the Cultural Centre in Kozarska Dubica and the amphitheater of Kne\u017epoljska ku\u0107a in Kne\u017eica, and on the last day of the program Prosvjeta promoted its editions, the book Dubi\u010dko podru\u010dje u 19. vijeku (Dubica area in the 19th century) by Mile Zelji\u0107 and the works Najgori dan za umiranje (The worst day to die) by Rajko Luka\u010d.<\/p>\n
In honor of the great jubilee, the ceremonial academy included a performance by Zrenjanin soloist Milica Doskovi\u0107, and verse reciting by Doboj poet Rada Janju\u0161i\u0107.<\/p>\n
A charter was awarded posthumously to Professor Mile Zelji\u0107, the long-time president of Prosvjeta Kozarska Dubica, for his exceptional contribution and endeavors in the founding, operation and development of the Society.<\/p>\n
A charter for friendly and donor support was awarded to Tomislav \u010coli\u0107, president of the Serb Union in Sweden, and to Pantelija Dudi\u0107.<\/p>\n
Sima Brdar, Mirko Zlojutro, Mira Stojakovi\u0107, Rajko Luka\u010d and Milica Doskovi\u0107 received certificates of appreciation at the ceremonial academy.<\/p>\n
Members of the Serbian Singing Society Vi\u0161nji\u0107 and Drama Studio Artist, nurturing and keeping the heritage of Prosvjeta\u2019s best traditions in their work under the auspices of this Society, showed part of their creativity and work in words and songs on the stage of the Cultural Center.<\/p>\n
Numerous officials, guests and citizens attended the events organized on the occasion of marking the 120th anniversary of Prosvjeta in Kozarska Dubica.<\/p>\n
The sponsors of the event were the Ministry of Labor, War Veterans\u2019 and Disabled Persons\u2019 Protection of the Republic of Srpska, the Municipality of Kozarska Dubica, Public Health Institution Special Hospital Mlje\u010danica, and Information and Culture Center Kozarska Dubica.<\/p>\n
