Schoolchildren from Dvorovi near Bijeljina demonstrated enviable knowledge of history in \u010ca\u010dak, at the final competition of the Nemanji\u0107i International Trivia Quiz on the topic Famous Serbs, where they took second place.<\/p>\n
Among the contestants from Serbia and Republic of Srpska in this group, the Kru\u0161evac team Nemanjina dru\u017eina (Nemanja\u2019s fellowship) took first place, while the knowledge of pupils of the Radojka Laki\u0107 Elementary School from Belgrade ranked them third.<\/p>\n
Schoolchildren from the Stefanova djeca (Stefan\u2019s children) team from Vukovar were best ranked among the contestants from the diaspora, while children from the Bo\u017eur (Peony) and Srpski radoznalci (the Serbian curious) teams, both from Italy, were second and third.<\/p>\n
The competition was held for the third time, with the blessing of the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church, and organized by the Mir Bo\u017eiji (Peace of God) Foundation from Banja Luka.<\/p>\n
The president of the organizing committee, Zdravko Mo\u010devi\u0107, said that about 3,000 contestants from 12 countries from all continents had taken part in this competition so far.<\/p>\n
\u2018The trivia quiz has already built up its image in the region, in Europe, and I dare say all over the world\u2019, said Mo\u010devi\u0107.<\/p>\n
According to him, the children prepare for the quiz from a special script provided by the organizer, which contains all the questions and answers.<\/p>\n
\u2018The children learn from that literature and compete on that basis, because not much content from this field is included in regular education\u2019, said Mo\u010devi\u0107.<\/p>\n
The competition was traditionally supported by the Republic of Srpska Representative Office in Serbia, on behalf of which Borislav Maksimovi\u0107, an associate for culture, donated television sets to the winning team from Vukovar.<\/p>\n
The competition was also supported by the Directorate for Cooperation with the Diaspora of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, and the Ministry of European Integration and International Cooperation of the Republic of Srpska, in addition to numerous sponsors.<\/p>\n
