The Consul General of the Republic of Serbia in Timisoara, Vladan Tadi\u0107, opened the international literary and spiritual event 28th Days of Transfiguration of Serbs in Romania.<\/p>\n
As part of the opening ceremony at the Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia in Timisoara, a press conference was organized presenting details of the three-day program of this year\u2019s event. The program includes literary evenings, a roundtable dedicated to cooperation between Serbs from Romania and Serbs from Montenegro, several cultural events, as well as visits to Serbian monasteries and other landmarks in the counties of Timis and Caras-Severin, Danube Gorge and Poljadija, where Serbs live.<\/p>\n
The central place of the event, as in all previous years, is the Bazja\u0161 Monastery, one of the sources of Serbian spirituality, which was founded by Saint Sava eight centuries ago according to folklore, and where the award ceremony is planned for this year\u2019s winner, poet Nenad Gruji\u010di\u0107 from Novi Sad.<\/p>\n
In his address, Consul General Tadi\u0107 noted that the Days of Transfiguration of Serbs in Romania were the most important literary event of the entire Serbian diaspora, traditionally organized by the Association of Serbs in Romania in cooperation with the Consulate General and the Department for Interethnic Relations of the Government of Romania, with the support of the City of Vr\u0161ac which provides the monetary portion of the award.<\/p>\n
He emphasized that, in addition to writers from Serbia and Romania, this year\u2019s event included participation of writers from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro \u2013 the special guests of this year\u2019s event, together with representatives of the Serbian National Council of Montenegro. Within several programs of literary evenings, creators in the Serbian language from six other European countries and the USA will join virtually the present writers and poets.<\/p>\n
Immediately before the opening ceremony, at the premises of the consulate, Consul General Vladan Tadi\u0107 met with the President of the Association of Serbs in Romania and Member of the Romanian Parliament Ognjan Krsti\u0107, President of the Serbian National Council of Montenegro Mom\u010dilo Vuksanovi\u0107, Honorary President of the Association of Serbs in Romania and writer Slavomir Gvozdenovi\u0107, and winner of the Great Bazja\u0161 Charter, poet Nenad Gruji\u010di\u0107.<\/p>\n
