At the forum on Deconstructing the myths about Sarajevo coexistence and Srebrenica genocide, the head of the Republic of Srpska Representative Office in Serbia, Mla\u0111en Cicovi\u0107, said that there would always be people preparing new conflicts, wars and victims by presenting and placing their lies and deceptions, but that it was an obligation of the Serbian people to tell only the truth and thus contribute to reconciliation and peace.<\/p>\n
In his address at the beginning of the forum, Cicovi\u0107 reminded that the Government of the Republic of Srpska had adopted two historical documents at a 2019 session \u2013 decisions on the appointment of independent international commissions for investigating the suffering of Serbs in Sarajevo during the period from 1991 to 1995 and for investigating the suffering of all peoples in the Srebrenica region during the period from 1992 to 1995.<\/p>\n
He pointed out that reports by both of those independent international commissions established historical truth, which some would try to call into question by the same means and ways as those used to hinder and dispute the path leading to it.<\/p>\n
Emphasizing that there is always only one historical truth, he expressed his belief that participants in the forum, organized by the information and political portals Sve o Srpskoj and Fakta, with the support of the Republic of Srpska Representation in Serbia, would succeed in being and staying objective.<\/p>\n
Cicovi\u0107 noted that what these commissions had established as irrefutable historical truths was not and would not be equally accepted everywhere and that it was more than certain that those \u2018not accustomed to, but rather very persistent in denying other people\u2019s victims,\u2019 or at least drastically diminishing them and magnifying theirs, would not stop insisting on that even now.<\/p>\n
\u2013 With that awareness, we understand that it is our obligation to inform as many people, nations and institutions in the world as possible about both of these reports of the independent international commissions, and at the same time to speak as much and as often as possible about the truths arrived at by those commissions \u2013 says Cicovi\u0107.<\/p>\n
