Trebinje presented its tourism products at ten standard stands in Knez Mihailova Street in downtown Belgrade, where Belgradians and foreign tourists had the opportunity to taste the famous Herzegovinian specialties, wines and brandies.<\/p>\n
Performance of a mix of traditional Herzegovinian dances and songs by the Cultural and Artistic Society Alat Swisslion attracted attention, and the stands presented the City of Trebinje, the Museum of Herzegovina, Herzegovina House, wines from six wineries, restaurants, City of the Sun Aqua Park, tourism organizations and producers of honey and medicinal herbs.<\/p>\n
The presentation of Trebinje was visited by the mayor, Mirko \u0110uri\u0107, who pointed out that the presentation of that city from the south of the Republic of Srpska and its features was organized in this fashion for the first time in the center of Serbian capital.<\/p>\n
\u0110uri\u0107 invited Belgradians to visit Trebinje and its many beautiful features to which every visitor was glad to return.<\/p>\n
\u2013 The food is good, out of 27 wineries in the Republic of Srpska, 23 are in Trebinje, religious tourism is also represented and there are places to see \u2013 Mrkonji\u0107i spiritual center, birthplace of St. Basil of Ostrog, Tvrdo\u0161 Monastery, Gra\u010danica of Herzegovina, all this should be visited, and we also have the largest water park in the region \u2013 the City of the Sun \u2013 said \u0110uri\u0107.<\/p>\n
Regarding the number of visits, \u0110uri\u0107 pointed out that Trebinje was getting back on track and expecting the best season and highest number of overnight stays so far.<\/p>\n
\u2013 In 2019, we had visits from people from 94 countries of the world, as officially recorded by the tourism organization, and there were over 100,000 overnight stays. In May this year, the number of visitors is higher than in 2019, and by all accounts it will also be the case in June \u2013 stated \u0110uri\u0107.<\/p>\n
He noted that Trebinje had 25 hotels, motels and hostels with more than 3,200 beds and invited Belgradians to come because there were available places, but also to book accommodation, because in July and August beds had always been in high demand.<\/p>\n
The head of the Republic of Srpska Representative Office in Serbia, Mla\u0111en Cicovi\u0107, said that promotion of Trebinje\u2019s tourism potentials in Belgrade was organized together with the Tourist Organization of Belgrade, in accordance with the agreement from the meeting of agriculture ministers of the Republic of Srpska and Serbia and mayors of Trebinje and Belgrade.<\/p>\n
\u2013 Here we can see best what it is that makes everyone say that Trebinje is an extremely desirable and interesting tourist destination and worthy of visiting \u2013 Cicovi\u0107 pointed out.<\/p>\n
The director of Belgrade TO, Miodrag Popovi\u0107, said that Belgradians knew a lot about Trebinje and that this year he expected the number of visits by Belgradians to be the highest in the past few years, and he also announced a presentation of Belgrade in Trebinje.<\/p>\n
\u2013 Crucial to this year\u2019s presentation is the fact that Trebinje is a complete tourist destination and we will remind Belgradians of that fact \u2013 said Popovi\u0107.<\/p>\n
The director of Trebinje TO, Mirjana Putica, emphasized that only a part of the tourism products was presented in Belgrade, and visitors were able to taste Herzegovinian wines and honey that day.<\/p>\n
She noted the manifold tourist offer of Trebinje and most attractive locations for tourists including city center with Platani summer garden, picturesque farmers market, Jovan Du\u010di\u0107 City Park, numerous cultural and historical monuments, Kastel old town, with many catering and craft shops, Museum of Herzegovina, as well as numerous monasteries and other religious buildings.<\/p>\n
For nature lovers, there is a range of opportunities offered by paragliding and photo safari, and as Putica noted, Trebinje had a mild Mediterranean climate and was located 25 kilometers from the Adriatic coast.<\/p>\n
