A formal reception was organized in the Government of the Republic of Srpska for members of the Corfiot Philharmonic Orchestra Liapades, on the eve of the humanitarian concert held in Banski dvor, in Banja Luka, starting at 20.00hrs.
The gathered were greeted by Minister Zlatan Klokić and Minister of Health and Social Welfare Alen Šeranić as hosts, and addressed by the president of the Greek-Serbian Friendship Association Corfu, Željko Popović.
At the very end, ministers Klokić and Šeranić awarded the attending representatives of associations, businessmen and musicians the certificates of appreciation for the promotion of cultural ties and preservation of those historical and friendly between Greece and the Republic of Srpska.
Banski dvor was the centre of Greek-Serbian friendship, where the Corfiot Philharmonic Liapades held the concert entitled In Honour of Ancestors, for the Future of Descendants.
More than 100 artists performed on stage under the artistic direction of the conductor Spyros Metallinos.
The concert was of a humanitarian and endowment nature, and all ticket proceeds are intended for the construction of a children’s and youth camp, which had been started by the Sveta Srbija association in Corfu.
As part of their visit to the Republic of Srpska, members of the Corfiot Philharmonic Liapades visited the Donja Gradina Memorial Area.
